Airsoft guns are replicas of actual firearms that shoot plastic BBs using a small amount of air to propell the BB at a relatively high velocity.
Airsoft guns are not dangerous if used properly and with common sense.
Spring Airsoft Guns- are guns that must be cocked every time before shooting. Prices vary from a few dollars for cheap airsoft guns to several hundreds of dollars for a sniper rifle. These guns require no battery. This makes the gun cheaper and more reliable.
Electric Airsoft Guns- Automatic electric guns (AEG) break down into 3 categories:
- LPEG low-powered electric guns
- MPEG medium-powered electric guns
- Regular AEG's are the most common high price range airsoft gun because of their high rate of fire and convenience of auto fire w/out need for gas. Mini-electrics are small battery (common AA or 9 volt Nicad battery) powered guns with a short range and slower rate of fire than a standard AEG.
Gas Airsoft Guns- Great effortless guns powered by Green Gas or CO2. Semi and fully auto gas airsoft guns are the most realistic in terms of their operation, since real firearms are gas operated. Many of them incorporate a blowback or recoil feature that makes the action of the gun realistic.
